The Japanese are famous for their weird and wonderful games and although Hasami is a little more mundane than the norm, it's nevertheless an enjoyable way to spend some time.

A variation on the popular board game, Shogi, this one sees you track and capture all of your opponent's pieces. In order to achieve this you must put two of your pieces on the edge of a row or column where your opponent's pieces are.

The game includes three levels of difficulty, ranging from ridiculously easy to virtually impossible, so I recommend the medium setting for optimal gameplay.

There is a two player mode and plenty of help and pointers to improve your game.

Although not much to look at, Pocket Hasami provides an interesting diversion in both one and two player modes.
